  3. Goals What is / are the Goals of the session? Are they clear and accepted by all? What are the outcomes expected? Do goals reflect the team’s environment? Roles What are the roles of each individual based on their interest or expertise? Typical roles: facilitator, leader, recorder, reporter, timekeeper Are they clearly described and understood? Do the roles support the group’s goal? GRPI

  4. Process What are the processes you are planning on using? What are the individual responsibilities for calling for a process check? (How will the group stay on track?) Establish Ground Rules (next slide) Interpersonal What are the individual responsibilities for maintaining good interpersonal relationships? How will conflict be resolved? What are the team members responsibilities when relationships seem to interfering with achievement of goals?

  5. Definition: the operating rules or practices agreed to by this group. Group should reach consensus on ground rules 3 key areas for ground rules: communication, participation, and decision-making Sample ground rules: Be prompt Stay focused on the task Listen Ask for clarity when needed No beating dead horses Agree to disagree Shut of Cell Phones Call process time out Respect people and ideas Everyone participates State your ideas and opinions clearly Pager on “Stun" Computers off Ground Rules
