What is MyWritingLabPlus? • MyWritingLabPlus is an online writing, grammar, and research resource that all students have access to throughout their academic career. • MyWritingLabPlus is used across disciplines. • Most students will automatically have access to the program via the MyWritingLabPlus fee built into their tuition. • Fee waiver students will need to pay the MyWritingLabPlus fee at the cashier’s office.

Specific Research and Documentation Topics • In MyWritingLabPlus, there are 11 Research and Documentation topics available to students: • Understanding the Research Process • Recognizing a Research Paper • Planning Research • Finding Research • Evaluating Sources • Avoiding Plagiarism • Integrating Sources • Citing Sources using MLA • Citing Sources using APA • Citing Sources using CMS • Citing Sources using CSE • Each of these topics include 5 activities: • Overview: a brief introduction • Animation: a short video • Recall 1 and 2: 10 multiple-choice questions each • Apply: apply knowledge learned to college student based scenarios • Students can access these topics in Free Range, an open section of MyWritingLabPlus that is typically used for students’ independent practice in the program. • If instructors choose to require specific topics for the entire class, the Headquarters can set up a specific course link in the program and provide an update of student progress.

Pearson Writer • Pearson Writer is a revolutionary digital tool for writers at all levels and will help students improve their writing. • Pearson Writer streamlines the writing process, so students can focus on developing their ideas. It also makes revising, research, and citations easier. • Students can access it via the website (csub.mylabsplus.com) or mobile device via app (available on Google Play & Apple Store). • Pearson Writer has five major features. Instructors can choose to use any combination of the following:  • Writing, Grammar & Research Guide is a go-to resource any time students have a question or need help. • Automatic Writing Review checks papers instantly for possible spelling, grammar, and style errors, while offering grammar lessons and suggestions for revising and editing. • Citation Generator keeps track of every source throughout the research process and builds a bibliography in the background, taking care of formatting details. • Research Database finds relevant, reputable academic sources for research papers. • Project and Task Manager helps students stay on top of multiple projects and makes sure deadlines don't sneak up.

  6. Writing, Grammar, & Research Guide • Gives students a research, writing, and grammar handbook at their fingertips • Explains the rules of grammar • Offers writing tips • Contains a built-in search engine for easy access • Presents tutorials to help students learn
