The Lord instructed us to pray not only for our needs but to reach out and pray for others as well. We find this in 1 Timothy 2:1-6. "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
In the REAL WORLD I have a role in the community! helping my family at home (chores/younger siblings with homework) neighbours with yard work helping the elderly giving advice and comforting our friends in times of need (church/school) strangers/poor Matthew 25:31-40 EVEN enemies! Matthew 5:43-44
Even Non-Christians! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!? YES, even pray for those who don’t believe in Christ Muslim, Jewish, etc........ God loves EVERYONE
You can help save others! just as Abouna prays for the congregation during the Divine Liturgy, our prayer can also contribute to the salvation of others as well as ourselves!!! you can save a life!!!
What’s the least we can do? pray for our loved ones and those who hate us help in whatever ways we can to whoever asks never turn anyone who needs our help away, just as Christ is always there when we need Him
