In this presentation from APRICOT 2009 in Manila, Toru Takahashi discusses the difficulties faced by the Asia Pacific Bureau of the Internet (ABS) due to a surge in commitments, evolving economic conditions, and frequent changes in membership. Highlighting the pressing need for new leadership to revitalize ABS activities, Takahashi shares insights about ongoing IPv6 promotion efforts, anti-spam strategies, and the formation of an Anti-Spam Council in Japan. He emphasizes collaboration with international stakeholders to tackle spam and protect consumers, especially children, from misuse of mobile technology.
