  3. Program Aims To encourage a lifelong involvement in the sport of swimming To model perseverance and hard work in achieving personal goals To train efficient swimmers who demonstrate a high level of technical accuracy and fitness To support the development of all student-athletes at SCIS

  5. Program Structure Early focus on conditioning and stroke work Later focus on speed and preparation for competition Differentiated practices for more and less able competitors Non-selective criteria for training and most* meets

  6. Program Structure Daily practices Tues-Fri Dry-land Training offered for both Junior and Senior Swimmers Regular meets both small and large Individualized video analysis work on poolside using camera and Ipad

  7. Program Structure Junior Team (G4-7) Skill development with a focus on quality vs. quantity. FUNdamentals stressed early on Senior Team (G8-12) Competitive stroke development, physical training and race strategies Emphasis on advanced stroke work

  9. General Expectations Competitive Program: competitions used to judge performance towards goals. Attend meets. Attendance at practice: minimum of 2 per week Team Spirit: Sit with team at meets and encourage team mates Respect: Respect to coaching staff and SCIS school.

  10. Expectations of Coaching Staff Preparedness for practice Attendance at meets Personalized feedback during meets and practice Respect towards student athletes and their families Maintain a positive image and role model for students

  11. Expectations of Parents Leave the coaching to the coaches Attendance at meets as a cheerleader for your kids Assistance with timing/duties at meets Respect towards all student athletes and their families Encourage student participation and positive communication with coaching staff.

  13. Swim Season Home Meets 8th Dec; 23rdJanuary; + one other Away Meets SCIS Invite (Oct) or NIS Triathlon * RSS Long Course (Nov) ISB/SAS Invite (Nov)* SSISz Dual Meet Cup Competitions SSL Cup and SSL Plate ACAMIS Travel Meets 20th April: Manila ISM 17th May: Hong Kong Stingrays

  14. Registering New Registration Process Open up aquatics website Choose meet forms. Choose meet. Register filling out the form. Include all information Send in meet fee to Mr. Mac Respect closing dates on meet entry Paperless entry system

  15. Kit Ordering Process Must haves: Swim Suit, Cap and Goggles Can haves: warm up, t-shirt, bag and parka Return form to office (US) for processing or to Mrs. R at the lower school
