  1. Safety precautions to be adopted while wheel loader is in operation A wheel loader is a heavy-duty equipment for loading large volume of materials. Although they are designed & built according to the legal and recognized safety precautions, still there might be possibilities of outright dangers. In this particular write up, we would discuss how to safely operate a wheel loader in India. We would also discuss in brief the ways to maintain safety and avoid accidents. Needless to mention, proper operation of the loader ensures durability and longevity. 1.Do not use the loader as a towing machine- A wheel loader is specifically designed for loading bulk materials. It is being advised not to use the loader for towing and hauling. 2.Needs operation by trained professionals- The wheel loader in India needs to be operated only by trained & certified professionals. They need to be physically and mentally fit. They need to perform the task that is entrusted on them. While driving on public roads the operator needs to have a valid operator’s license. It is imperative that the operators should adhere to laid down safety standards and accordingly they need to wear safety belt while operating the machine. 3.Used of protective clothing is a must- Wearing protective clothing is a mandatory while operating a wheel loader in India. Having said this, it is being advised to avoid loose-fitting clothes including that of open cuffs and jackets. Possessions like rings are to be avoided as they get caught in the machine. Wearing safety goggles, boots and helmets is also a must. 4.At any given point in time, only one person should occupy the operator’s seat inside the machine- The wheel loader is designed to carry only one operator at a time. Other personnel are not permitted to enter inside the cab. Also never carry tools or any other equipment inside the cabin.

  2. 5.Keeping a safe distance- Always Keep a safe distance, from structures like buildings, scaffolding or other machines to avoid collision. Individuals need to always keep safe distance in the zone where the loader is in complete operation. The operator needs to start operating the machine only when the site is completely clear to do so. Do not exceed the maximum loading directive of the loader as advised from the manufacturer. The bucket of the loader must be filled in such a manner that the material does not spill during transportation from one point to another. Hence, it can be concluded that wheel loader in India are ideal for loading purpose, but we need to make sure that the loader is not misused else, it would result in unwanted accidents.
