An organized approach to doing your leaf project.
#1 Begin by collecting good healthy leaves from trees, and placing them in a leaf press (book). Don’t forget the paper towel on both sides of the leaf, so that the leaf will dry faster and not stain the book.
#2 After a leaf has been in a press for a few days, remove the leaf and place it in a storage box.
#3 Now that you have a fair collection of leaves (10 to 20) it’s time to see what types of leaves you still need to collect.
#4 The instructions tell you how many leaves you will need of each type. So take your leaves out of the box and organizing your leaves by types. You will need: 6 --simple pinnate 2 --compound pinnate 1 --doubly compound pinnate 3 --simple palmate 1 --compound palmate 1 --simple parallel 3 --needles 3 --scales

#5 Once you have figured out what types of leaves you still need: Go and get them!

#8 Create a label for each leaf and attach (tape) it on the paper next to the leaf. Remember: there is extra credit for color coding.
