Weather Myths By will
How Myths are Created • Myths are created in some different ways. Sometime somebody has nothing better to do than to make up a crazy story and claim it’s true. Another more common reason is that a story is passed down, growing more different every time. Maybe a story of part of a barn’s roof getting ripped off turns into a whole barn being lifted off the ground and being carried halfway across town.
Myth 1 Flying Horses !! • A hurricane in Great Bend Kansas flew five horses half a mile to the next town. The horses were still attached to the same fence. • True or false?
Myth 2 Groundhogs! • Supposedly on February 2nd if a groundhog sees its shadow it’s 6 more weeks of winter. But if it doesn’t it is the end of winter. • True or False
Myth 3 Frogs!!! • Thousands of frogs fell from the sky in France in 1804. • True or False?
