Principles that Promote Learning By: Jameka J. Satterwhite
Multimedia Principle • This principle focuses on using words and incorporating graphics so that you are not just using words alone. • This Principle really makes the subject or lesson pop and grabs the attention of the reader. • The words can be read or heard. The graphics can be drawings, charts, or photos just to name a few.
Contiguity Principle • This principle takes printed words and aligns them with the graphics that they are speaking of. • When words and graphics are put together it’s easier for the reader to make connections and understand.
Personalization Principle • This principle uses different characters to speak to you during the lesson to help the lesson become a lot clearer and understandable.
Segmenting & Pretraining Principles • This principle breaks down lessons step by step so that they will be understood and learned by the student. • This helps them see step by step how the lesson is suppose to be laid out and what they should do first.
