Summary of Jaws Poster • A large, menacing Great White shark lurks from below with mouth open-ready to kill an unassuming female swimmer. The simple title (Jaws) appear in bold red print at the top of the poster.
Analysis of Jaws Poster • While the image is cartoonish in its design, one cannot help but be fearful of the inevitable outcome of this scene: the abyss of the dark ocean and the dramatic irony contribute to the fear of the unknown. Here, death is certain.
Analysis of Jaws Poster • In all of its simplicity, the poster’s design connotes everything we expect in horror films. The poster places the soft, easy prey between many sharp angles: the myriad of triangular teeth, the large triangular nose of the shark, and the heavy triangles within the title.
