  2. Location Where is it??? Give an exact location. 701 Church St. Moscow, PA 18444. Give a relative location. Between the dumpster and the tricycle.

  3. Absolute Location • A location that gives an exact location. • Examples – address, latitude and longitude coordinates (10.65°N (latitude), 71.6°W (longitude))

  4. Relative Location • Gives a position of one place by referring to another place. • Examples – Mendicinos Pizza (near Bill’s shoprite plaza/McDonald’s)

  5. Regions Areas that share at least one common feature. Examples of regions – * Countries * States > Political Regions * Cities

  6. Regions Continued • People who live in a region fall under the same type of government. • Another feature of regions can be the climate and culture.

  7. Place • Identifies the natural and human features that make one place different from every other place. • Identify places by, landforms, climate, plants, animals, people, language or culture.

  9. Movement • “How do people, goods, and ideas move from place to place?” • What happens in one place affects another place. • Examples…

  10. Interactions • Focuses on the relationship between people and the environment. • When people live in an area they tend to make changes to it over time. Normally to make living easier. • Examples…
