The Issue ! The issue is that slavery still exists lack of education is the NEW form of slavery Take away a man’s education; you take away their ability to become what they have been placed on earth to do.
Significancesof the issue The uneducatedbecome trapped by poverty and powerlessness and are forced or tricked into slavery. By being uneducated you allow slavery to continue
Opposing claim Its up to the person whether they want their education or not. Slavery doesn’t exists any more.
Intended audience African Americans (to motivate change, to acknowledge the issue),
What is slavery Slavery is the state of one bound in servitude Lack of personal freedom (Law) the state or condition of being a slave; a civilrelationship whereby one person has absolute power over another and controls his life, liberty, and fortune the condition of being subject to some influence or habit work done in harsh conditions for low pay
Why is this issue a modern issue of slavery? Lack of education bounds you ability to work, it labels you , and it restrains you from being able to do anything in the world, which then limits you to being died or in prison. • People are just as trapped, controlled and brutalized as the slaves were back in the day, because of there lack of education. • They become this way because without a form of education they become poor, vulnerable, and lost. • By them not having access to work, to obtain an education and the lack of care, they end up in either two places, died or in prison.
Solution Address the issue With the help of god, and everybody contributes! African-Americans can make a change. Mentoring, helping, Lifting, and encourage one another STAYING IN SCHOOL and obtaining an education no matter how difficult it gets. If parents teach, nurturer, support, and guide their children to the right path, they can solve this issue If African- Americans do this, they can become one, and gain what’s been stolen from us.
