  9. Color Television • 1925- Zworykin filed a patent for color television which failed. • 1959- Color t.v. received authorization for commercial broadcasting on Jan. 22, 1959.

  11. Helicopters • The Focke-Wulf 61 was the first practical helicopter. It solved control problems and reached 122km/h. • Juan de la Cierva’s Gyrocrafts had hinged flapping rotor blades.

  12. Modern Helicopters • Bell AH-1Z • A modern military helicopter with a four bladed main and tail rotor and “fully integrated weapons.”
