Setting Up Slides • Animations - Use sparingly to add motion, sound, and contrast to text and objects. • Transitions - Special effects for use when progressing from slide to slide. • Timing Features - The amount of time allotted to text, objects, and slides when using animations and transitions. *Overused special effects are a distraction and minimize the message.

  3. Adding Animation To add animation: • Select Slide Show from the menu options. • Select Animation Schemes.

  4. Adding Animation (Continued) • Review the list of animation options. • Select an animation that is relevant to the topic of the slide. • By default, No Animation is selected.

  5. Adding Animation (Continued) • Apply animations to selected slides or objects or to all slides.

  6. Adding Transitions To add transitions: • Select Slide Show from the menu. • Select Slide Transition.

  7. Adding Transitions (Continued) • Review the list of transition options. • Select a transition that is relevant to the topic of the slide. • By default, No Transition is selected.

  8. Adding Transitions (Continued) • Format the transition by modifying the speed, sound, and advance. • Apply transitions to all slides or to selected slides or objects.

  9. Slide Master Use a Slide Master to produce a professional and uniform presentation. Select View and Master from the menu options.

  10. Reviewing and Displaying Access the Master Slide to add consistency to the presentation’s appearance.

  11. Reviewing and Displaying (Continued) The Title Master controls the consistency of the appearance and the font styles and enhances the clarity of the title slides.

  12. Reviewing and Displaying (Continued) The Slide Master controls the appearance of the other slides in the presentation.

  13. Reviewing and Displaying (Continued) Access the master slide to modify: • Levels • Bullets • Placeholders • Layouts.

  14. Reviewing and Displaying (Continued) • Aspect Ratio is the relationship between the height and width of an object. • When Lock aspect ratio is selected, the object will retain its size proportionally.

  15. Reviewing and Displaying(Continued) • Use Edit Color Scheme to choose the color scheme of the presentation. • Once a color scheme is chosen, it must be maintained consistently throughout the presentation.
