From The Cancer Warrior “Being lost is temporary.” Bryan L. The Cancer Warrior was partly written a couple years ago and my notes were deleted because I did like the content. So as it stands The Lost Chapters 4.0 is the final in The Cancer Warrior Series unless some unforeseen miracle happens and “Recover 5.0” gets written. There is a scene at the end of Cast Away where Tom Hanks is standing in the middle of an intersection in Northern TX looking for the Angle Wing Welder. He looking at his map not sure which way to go and this old pickup pulls up and this beautiful woman asks him if he needs directions. She is the Angel Welder who gave Tom the idea in movie to take the broken part of the plastic outhouse and turn into a wing to get over the waves to escape the island. Tom was not “Lost” in the scene of being able to connect all the dots together, he was just mid-located in a part of TX that was unfamiliar to him. Maybe we have all the dots, were just mid-located temporarily. Bryan L. Lost in the Waiting – The Cancer Warrior “When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” Henry Ford
The Train Schedule “When you have been lost in sickness for so long, its hard to tell where you are.” Bryan L. Sleep is no longer 10-6 or 11-7. Sleep is anywhere from 4-5-6-7am to whenever and sometimes in bits and pieces. The train schedule in my neighborhood during the week 12 Midnight to 5am and varies depending on what day of the week it is. When you know the train schedule after mid-night and that is when you do your best writing its time to re-think what lifestyle means. Point being, the train knows where it is, you know where you are and you know what your doing. It just doesn’t fit your old normal. "Life imposes things on you that you can’t control, but you still have the choice of how you’re going to live through this." Celine Dion Sickness can impose its suffering. And maybe you also know the train schedule because you aren’t sleeping either. The important things to know are, your train schedule can change. The sickness can improve. Your health can recover. Your diagnosis doesn’t own you. When the medical community says these are your options, look elsewhere. Personally I am pursuing alternative healthcare because western medicine does not give me enough of the right options. Jump trains and find a better train schedule.
Dissatisfied ??? “Until you get dissatisfied, you won't do anything to really move your life to another level. Dissatisfaction is a gem. If you're totally satisfied, you're going to get comfortable. And then your life begins to deteriorate.” Tony Robbins Yes! Dissatisfied. Maybe the Lost Chapters were lost for a reason. Like in 2.0 where we talk about Soft Pillows and Butterflies which do not exist in sicknesses like Cancer and BPH Disease. I’m just making the point that Cancer Warriors can become dissatisfied with their care, treatments, results and life as a whole if the season they are in goes on for too long. Some Cancer Warriors are more adaptable mentally and emotionally (wish I was one of them) than others. Still for others, its just leave me alone. One thing can be said, everyone has there stuff. Some get more unwanted stuff than others. So how do we become satisfied in our suffering? “Human nature demands recognition. Without it, people lose their sense of purpose and become dissatisfied, restless, and unproductive.” Ricardo Semler I want to be recognized for being healthy, well, happy, an achiever, at peace. How can any of us do that when a disease comes along and leaves a long trail of dissatisfaction? Which part of being sick is satisfying? Which part of bad news is satisfying? Which part of lost finances is satisfying?
Warrior Up “Fight or Loose.” Bryan L. Warrior Up would have been at the beginning of the original Cancer Warrior to set the tone of what is to come. When you look up the disease that is in your body and there are only three options, drug it until the drug can’t stop it, surgically remove it and create a firestorm of scar tissue that has to be removed or have an implant put in to hold back the disease until that implant fails. To me the easier way to go is have a body that will heal itself. But when you are fighting two types of cancer, something else is sacrificed. Leave the hard shit to the warriors. Because when you have a disease that has no cure, outlasting the disease is the only first, only and last choice. There are tough people and then there are warriors. Warriors are made of something different. My grandpa was in WW1, front line artillery, shot in battle, survived and became a master carpenter. Its like this, if those of us who fight a battle that is bigger than our self do not Warrior Up, we loose. Bottom line. Warrior Up or loose. “When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.” Isaiah 43:2
What The Logo Means “If You Don’t, It Will.” Bryan L. The Red C is bowing to the Cross or Sword of the Spirit. Some people don’t believe in or care for God. I get that. I have my days too. But in the end do you only want to be connected to what is around you? Think over the titles of The Cancer Warrior. 316 and You, Beat the B_st_rd, Endure the Race, F_ck Cancer, Fight to the Finish, Fight to Win, I Am A Cancer Warrior, One More Day, Once More Unto the Breach Dear Friends, Overcomer, Persist Until You Succeed. They seem singular in focus. They are not. A Warrior has a trainer. Mine is Jesus, the toughest man to ever walk the earth. Not one of us have the bragging rights of dying for our offenses. Jesus Does. We have three ways of being healed. Instantaneously right now. Over time with medicine and prayer. OR in heaven. Do you have the power to make any of those happen? I didn’t think so. Until you and I get our healing, there is Warrior Up. Make the best with what you have for as long as you are here. “Once More Until The Breach Dear Friends.” Henry V and Wm Shakespeare
Positives Thoughts For Today “Victory is in having done your best. If you’ve done your best, you’ve won.” Billy Bowerman “My superpower is being a Cancer Warrior.” Bryan L. “Everyday is a second chance.” Unknown “The road to success is always under construction.” Lily Tomlin When you are exhausted and you want to quit, remember you are not alone in this vicious battle.
