  1. The Cancer Warrior At The End of The Day If you notice the cancer warrior is in red, for a reason and 8.0 is in large black print for a reason. Keep these in mind as you read on, cause I’m going to blunt at times. Now that 1.0 through 7.0 are behind us, we are now moving forward at light speed towards glory. What’s ahead? The great rebuild or the finish line? So lets start with the heart of the issue then everything that is external is next. Paul from The Vine said, “we don’t always get what we want.” 2 Cor. 12, three times he asked if his burden (blindness) could be lifted. Jesus said no. My grace is sufficient for you. That’s harsh. That’s real. Who eased Jesus’ afflictions, no one. Life is hard, Jesus and Paul got that. Here’s a question. What is beyond the great time barrier? At the end of the day you, we, us, they do not know what tomorrow brings. So lets show up for it and see. Imagine you are at a fork in the road. There are no signs to tell you which way to go, but your body is telling you. Are you listening? OR do you try to mentally battle through another day, then another and another? This is hard place to be. Do you concede or do you continue to struggle? Do you have enough will power to push through more of what you’ve been experiencing? This Cancer Warrior is 8.0. “The number 8 represents a new beginning, meaning a new order or creation, and man's true "born again" event when he is resurrected from the dead into eternal life. Your body will stop fighting when its finished living. What about your soul? Alec Guinness said in Raise the Titanic, we all end up in a single bed sooner or later. Eternity is a breath away. Know Jesus!

  2. Issues of the Heart Soul – Mind – Will – Emotions – Finances - Decisions We have no idea what other people are going through. When it comes to illness and its duration there are so many emotional ups and downs that if they, we, you were to experience them all at one time, it would blow a fuse in our souls. No to mention the financial hardship that can come with illness, and from my point of view, being sick long term is very expensive. There are days when a Cancer Warrior just spends time in a fog. A mental and emotional fog that can last for days and beyond. Do you like Quiche? The ingredients to a great Quiche can very based on what flavors you like best. Soul, Mind, Will, Emotions, Finances, Decisions are just part of your heart ingredients. Cancer + BPH Disease in my case do not always allow the person to escape their claws and hard decisions have to be made. Some of us have made up our final recipe, others have not. In June of 2024 I opted out of the chemical cocktail to pursue alternative means of winning this battle. I’ve taken the unmarked fork in the road called faith. Its either right or wrong, I’ll find out. I won’t know until the end of the day whether I won or lost, but I will show up to find out and see how many more days there are. My good buddy Chuck left early. I remember the day he called and asked if I could take him to ER. I did that twice and within 4 months I was planning his memorial service. Know Jesus! If The Report Says Terminal Terminal /tûr′mə-nəl/ Adjective Of, at, relating to, or forming a limit, boundary, extremity, or end. Growing or appearing at the end of a stem, branch, stalk, or similar part. Of, at, relating to, or being the end of a section or series; final. Synonym: last. Similar: last. There is a point in time when the Cancer Warrior may need to consider his or her options. As I was waiting for my third surgery and doctor asked me if I wanted to be revived, it’s like a switch got flipped in my mind. I’m thinking to myself I have no reason to carry on, I have no family. So I said no.

  3. Conceding is a difficult decision. With more surgeries to endure my mind was made up. That’s my point to this. The mind will decide for us when the body is screaming hold on. Personally restarting my will to carry on isn’t there. So, body you have to carry the burden of healing yourself. Ya, its a tough place to be. It is very important to recognize when the sun is setting. Surrendering is difficult enough without other peoples opinions getting in the way and my friends understand this. I’m good with going home and I’m good with remaining longer if God needs me here. But home is my first option. If you don’t know Jesus and the peace of knowing his glory is waiting, there is still time. Until our last breathe, Warrior On!
