Congratulations to Track & Field athlete Esther Nofodgi • Esther, competing in the Discus, qualified for the State CIF Track Meet in Fresno this coming weekend by placing 2nd at the San Diego CIF Finals with a throw of 125'-4". • Wish Esther Good luck as she will now compete against the top 20 discus thrower's in the state.

  8. Congratulations to Hoover’s Badminton Team. • Whitney Gonzalez won the CIF Singles Championship and then paired with partner Vivian Nguyen to win the doubles championship. • It was an all Hoover final in doubles as the runner-ups were Ashley Ly and Julie Nguyen!

  12. CAC Aztec Summer Experience SAT Prep. Program will be June 23-July 18th with an overnight experience at SDSU July 18-19. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 4:00pmApplications are due to GEAR UP Rm. 206 Gear Up is recruiting 10th and 11th graders This is an intensive 4-week SAT summer prep. program.  Applicants must have a 2.75 GPA and they can pick up an application in the GEAR UP room.

CAC is recruiting 10 current 9th graders (class of 2017) to participate FREE 4-week intensive SAT Prep Program (valued at $699) Location: Hoover High School Program Dates: June 23-July 18 SDSU Overnight Experience: July 18-19  Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA See Ms. Naranjo’s office located in counseling center.

  15. SummerSchool2014 The District is offering Summer School from June 23 - Aug 1 (6 weeks) If you haven’t returned your application do so ASAP. Counselors will be submitting them this week to the host summer school. • Hoover is NOT a host school, Crawford is the closest site in City Heights.

  16. Class of 2015 Plan on graduating June 2015 and need to recover credits or improve CGPA? Summer School 2014 is your last opportunity to improve your graduation status prior to the start of your senior year, Sept. 2, 2015. And if you are thinking that there will 4 sessions of HSDP (night school) next school year to recover credit than you are sadly mistaken. The plan is only 2 sessions and that is contingent upon enrollment, not enough students and the session will be closed.

Class of 2016 and 2017 Think carefully Currently the only credit recover program available to you is Summer School. • Let’s do the math.  2 classes per summer session. • Class of 2016 has 2 summers remaining until start of senior year 2015:  2 X 2 = 4 credits • Class of 2017 has 3 summers remaining until start of senior year 2016:  2 X 3 = 6 credits

  24. Saturday School is over for the 2013-14 school year. Detention This Week Detention will be held every day after school in Room 405/Computer Lab. Detention starts at 2:30 and ends at 3:30.
