  4. Sonar • System of reflection to find underwater objects • Pulse is emitted downward in ocean • The sound wave hits something • Sound wave travels back to boat • Hydrophone picks up signal

  5. Ultrasound in Medicine • High frequency sound waves can be used in medicine • Can be used to detect • Pregnancy • Types of heart disease • Cancer
