Objectives of the OCA The Office of Consumer Affairs offers a variety of services and supports to persons and families with behavioral health recovery and disabilities challenges, other state agencies and providers. The Office of Consumer Affairs will: · Referrals, education, one-on-one problem solving & system navigation · Provide input on the development and implementation of policies and programs · Provide an advocacy voice to stakeholder groups throughout the state · Assist DHS with sharing information and gathering feedback

  5. What have we done? • Established 5 Regional Advisory Committees • Created website, ocaiowa.org • Created a Facebook Page • MHDS Redesign Advocacy • Coordinated 10 MHDS Redesign Public Forums with over 1,000 attendees • Community Outreach

  6. The Future • Continued recruitment of Regional Advisory Committee members • Continued involvement in MHDS Redesign • Community Outreach • Increase knowledge of state resources
