The Public Examinations Communication & Support System (PECSS) is an innovative platform designed to improve the management of public examinations via webcams and instant messaging. Integrated with the HKEAA Command Centre, PECSS allows real-time communication and recording of exam proceedings within school halls. It minimizes disruption during emergencies by providing rapid support to Centre Supervisors and ensures smooth exam conduct. Launched in April 2009, PECSS will be piloted in 100 school halls during the HKCEE and HKALE, showcasing its critical role in exam administration.

Why do we need it? It facilitates the smooth conduct of public exams through • enhanced communication with Centre Supervisors • support for exam centres to minimize possible impacts on candidates during emergency situations
How does it work? HKEAA • provides necessary equipment for setting up the system Centre Schools • provide broadband link in school halls • School IT technicians help to set-up / dismantle the equipment and provide technical support to Centre Supervisors
How does it work? • Instant communication between exam centres and the HKEAA • Support/advice to Centre Supervisors in handling exam irregularities • Simultaneous dissemination of urgent messages to all exam centres in case of contingencies • Recording of exam proceedings for future reference
