  2. PAT - Position Analysis Tool This is a Web-based competency needs assessment tool all faculty complete. All new faculty and non-tenured faculty complete the PAT every year in October. All tenured faculty complete the PAT every four years, in parallel with the State Plan of work.

PAT - Position Analysis Tool Provides individualized professional development focus and Extension career development Enables targeted professional development offerings Four main categories of measured competencies: Program planning and development Program implementation and public relations Program evaluation and accountability Personal and interpersonal skills

  4. PAT - Position Analysis Tool Additional competencies assessed for faculty in administrative positions are: Policies and procedures Program development and management Fiscal management Human resource management Office and facility management Relationships and liaisons

  5. IDPs - Individual Development Plans An annual plan developed by individual faculty members in corroboration with their immediate supervisor. It is an outline of the individual’s professional development goals and planned development activities to be pursued during the upcoming program year. The primary focus of the IDPs is on the faculty member’s professional development needs as determined via the PAT.

  6. Professional Development Inservices The professional development inservices will be based on the needs assessed from the PAT. Aggregated PAT results enable focused professional development based upon actual needs of Extension faculty. Extension personnel will be able to sign up for their personally needed inservices through web-based registration.

  7. CED Basic Training for new and aspiring CEDs To help new CEDs develop effective administrative abilities a series of trainings will be offered. The training will cover CED roles and responsibilities in addition to effective interpersonal skills.

  8. CED Administrative Resource Manual The CED Administrative Resource Manual will serve as a valuable desktop handbook for CEDs. It will contain a variety of necessary information conveying all CED areas.

  9. LEAD - IFAS Program LEAD (Leadership Enhancement and Administrator Development) is designed to develop IFAS leadership and management capacity. The program focuses on the growth of current administrators as well as aspiring administrators across all levels of IFAS. The program utilizes a self-assessment of current management, leadership, personalities, skills, and traits that are essential administrative competencies. Subsequent programs are designed to enhance these competencies.

  10. Professional Development Evaluation This is a comprehensive evaluation of professional development components. This includes evaluation instruments for faculty offering professional development. A greater emphasis on evaluation will lead to more effective professional development offerings and programs.
