  2. Project Definition • To effectuate a standalone system consisting of data compression algorithms mentioned below in order to reduce the number of bits required to represent information in data storage : • RLE • Deflate • LZMA

  3. Objectives • Save disk space and send e-mail attachments faster • Reduce download times • Better compatibility • Lossless Data

  4. Scope of Work • To compress the data without the loss of quality with higher compression ratio. • Ability to extract the data from the following types of file: • Zip • Rar • Gzip • Encryption to provide security to data using AES. • Command line utility for batch processing.

  5. Methodology • Gathering and analyzing system requirements • Preparing the Data Flow Diagrams and ER Diagrams • Designing the GUI in Java™ • Integration of the compression algorithms with the GUI • Testing and evaluation of System

  6. Requirements • Any OS with JVM enabled. • 128MB of RAM. • Approx. 1 MB of free disk space.
