Advantages Multi-touch & The GUI: In true Apple style, the iPhone's menu interface is attractive, intuitive, and easy to use. With multi-touch technology it allows you to move your finger in a variety of ways to manipulate what's on the screen. Desktop-class web browser and E-mail: The Safari browser really sets the iPhone apart from the cell phone crowd. Rather than trudging through stripped-down WAP pages with limited text and graphics, the browser displays Web pages and E-mail in their true form as you see them on your computer.Third-party application support: After the release of the SDK, developers are now able to create different applications and deliver them wirelessly though the App Store.
Advantages Visual voice mail: iPhone's voice mail works much like a text-message folder in that it displays the caller's name or phone number and the time. What's even more fantastic, however, is that you can listen to the message instantly by pressing the individual message--you don't even have to call your voice mail first. Wireless music download: With the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store you can download music over the air to your phone anywhere you are.YouTube: Although the iPhone does not support flash from its Safari web browser, but you can still take YouTube with you and watch any video you need on the go.Battery life: The iPhone has great battery comparing to other phones. You can get up to 8 to 10 hours of talk time (5 hours on 3G version with 3G on); 24 hours of music playback; 7 hours of video playback and 5-6 hours of web browsing (5 hours with 3G on in the 3G version of the iPhone.)
DIS-ADVANTAGES No MMS: You can't send multi-media messages which any normal phone can do.No copy, cut and past: One of the most unexpected feature is the lack of cut, copy and past. If you want to copy and past something, memorize it and retype it on the iPhone. No removable battery: You cannot replace the battery if it dies because it is sealed inside. If the battery is damaged you have to send the phone back to Apple in order for them to fix it.Locked to AT&T: It's only offered for one service provider which is AT&T and you have to sign a 2-year contract with them.
More Disadvantages No video capture: The iPhone camera does not take videos which a phone for the 20th century can do.No Flash support: The iPhone does not support Flash.Virtual keyboard: The keyboard needs time getting used to; it's hard to use for some people with large fingers too.Lack of camera features: The camera has no zoom or picture editing features.
PRICES $$$$ The iPhone 3G, unveiled by Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the end of his Worldwide Developers Conference keynote Monday, will sell for $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB model. That’s a $200 discount from the previous $399 and $499 prices for the 8GB and 16GB iPhones, respectively. And it’s a far cry from the price tag for the iPhone when it was introduced nearly a year ago. Last June, the iPhone cost as much as $599 for an 8GB model.
