2. Merlin • Long ago there was a small island. One day a boat was sailing in the sea the waves were choppy and wavy. Then the lightning struck in all sorts of places. Suddenly Merlin landed on an island by Sandy bay. Merlin had been washed up on an island but had a map. He was unfortunately on the wrong island. Then Merlin stood up and started to walk to some old dark stable. • In the stables there was a small bay pony called Carrie. She was tied up in a twist. Merlin tried to help her but he couldn’t. She can speak somehow. She said, “Can you help me please?” Merlin tried but couldn’t help her so he went on a journey to find some things. Merlin went on a journey and found a sword then he went back and cut the rope and said, • “Now I have helped you can you help me? Carrie said, • “Yes” • “Can you help me get to the island over there?” said Merlin • “Yes. Let’s go on a journey to get some things to get over to the island.” said Carrie. So they did. They got a jet-pack. So Merlin put on the jet-pack and flew over to the other island. It was really cool and colourful. It had a blood tower. It was all cool because the blood was dripping off it.

3. Witch • The island was colourful and smelly. It was very magical and it felt like he was standing on the moon. Everywhere he looked it sparkled but it was very dull. • The witch had dark blood red hair. She had a horrid broomstick and no shoes. She had crooked toenails and she eats her toenails. She had a pet fish in the sea. She had a crooked hat and had a nose that had warts on it which grew every day. She is magical and is very rude. She always says that no-one will defeat her. She is in love with a vampire because he bit her and all her blood came out. Blood River is where the vampire lived and it is dark and gloomy. It is where the vampire spits out all the blood so that is why it is called Blood River. No-one had seen the “happy couple” since their wedding day.

4. Ghosts • There were three see-through white ghosts in the spooky house. The house was very old and dusty and the windows were smashed. The first ghost was very thin and scary. The second ghost was very big and eats a lot. The third ghost was tall and big. In the house there were tarantulas on the webs and there was a bag full of antidotes so whenever they were in pain they could ? them and they would be cured. They were terribly darty. • The third ghost opened a door and there was a cat but that cat was terribly dangerous. They lit up a candle and they made a paper aeroplane and set it on fire and threw it at the carpet so they quickly got out of the house. They laughed at the house that they had set on fire. • Merlin had butterflies in his stomach as he walked over to Spooky House, He wondered what had happened as the house had burnt down. Merlin got very angry with the ghosts and started to look for them. It was getting dark and he was not able to see them very well. He fell to sleep beside the house.

5. Vampires • On the way Merlin met a vampire at Blood River. The vampire had shining red eyes, tiny wings and a large body. He had big pointy teeth and no nose. He was very frightening. Merlin was extremely scared. Then Merlin said, “Oh no I better run!” but he didn’t. Merlin got his wand out and he waved his wand. He dropped it in Blood River and the vampire got it. • Merlin was really sad and tears dropped into his old scraggy beard and his skin all crinkled up. He had a black cape with purple stars and they shone in the moonlight. Then Merlin found a shining sword He went back to the stable and cut the rope As Merlin cut the rope the vampire came and said • “No you are not yet free!” and Merlin said, • “Yes she is,” and Merlin freed her.

6. Fish • Merlin woke up and took a stroll to the beach where there were no crabs and he sat down. He saw a fish lying on the shore. The fish was grey and it had brown eyes. It was a big slimy fish. Then he realised that he had lost his wand he looked at the fish’s mouth and saw his wand he was amazed when he saw it. He ran up to the fish and squeezed it. The problem was solved! He could now use his wand once again. • Merlin picked the fish up and threw it back into the sea. It swam back to shore and followed him wherever he went. Merlin turned round and the fish was jumping around at his feet. Merlin was wondering how the fish had got out onto the shore. Merlin said, • “I am not throwing you in again!” and the fish replied, “ I do not care!” Merlin said, • “O my God! You can speak.” Merlin couldn’t believe that the fish could speak Merlin picked the fish up and said, • “How can you speak?” The fish said, • “ I don’t know.” Merlin said, • “ I have a voice and so do you now will you speak?” • “Uhu” said the fish. • “Come on then you can come on the journey with me” said Merlin. • “No I can’t come I will dehydrate because I have to stay in water. But I can swim in the river beside you.” Merlin heard a splash. So they set off on the journey together. They didn’t realise that the river ended. So the fish was fluttering around in the end of the river. The fish had to stay behind because the river had ended. Merlin was sad to leave him but had to continue the journey.

7. Skull Stable • The stables were old and tatty and had cobwebs everywhere. The stables had smashed windows. It was haunted and mysterious. When you went up the stairs they creaked. The doors were cracked. • The door creaked and when Merlin went in the second stable skulls started to attack him as he entered the room. The island started to shake as more skulls attacked Merlin. Merlin pulled his wand out and tried to stop them but every time he tried to do a spell he was hit by more skulls. He tried to run out of the room but the door was jammed. He waved his wand to get a hammer and started to knock down the door. The island shook again, the door fell off its hinges and Merlin was free he ran away.

8. Get-away boat • After Merlin had been to Skull Stable he had to get off the island. He found a boat. It was old and rusty. After Merlin found the boat he had to find wood, nails and a hammer to fix the boat because the boat had cracks in it. So Merlin got his wand out and he waved it. A hammer came out, He waved it again and got some nails and then he waved it one more time and got some wood. • So Merlin built a boat and went off home. He got near to where he lived and the waves got bigger and bigger until he was at his house. • Merlin was amazed when he got home. His mum said, • “Where have you been all this time?” She was crying, Merlin said, • “ I have been on a brilliant journey Mum.” • “I don’t believe you, now go to your room and stop speaking nonsense.” Merlin’s mum didn’t believe him until half an hour later she came into his room and said, • “I believe you now because I have found your wand.” • Ten years later he was lying in bed thinking, he got up and set off once again as he missed the adventure.
