Morning Procedures Please do not bring your child to the classroom in the morning. All visitors must sign in, in the office. We encourage you walk them to the cafeteria for morning assembly or to the front door of the school. We strive to build a community of positive relationships on our campus. Therefore, we encourage morning assembly participation. Gonzales students will be recognized on a daily basis by Mrs. Press & Mrs. Subia. This is a special time for everyone. Thank you for your support and having your child in the cafeteria by 7:30.

Housekeeping • Students may bring light jacket to keep in the room if they are getting cold. • They may bring a water bottle with a lid to drink from during the day. • Binder • 9 week fluency log must signed everyday • Behavior Calendar must be signed everyday
Gonzales Parent/Student Contract • I have read the classroom rules, consequences, and rewards and will review them with my child. • I understand homework will be given Monday-Thursday and it allows my child to elaborate on important skills. • I understand that reading to my child is part of daily homework. • I understand that my child’s Binder includes: Behavior Calendar, homework, daily reading bagand 9 Weeks Fluency log, which are all important study guides that provide specific skills important for my child to be a successful First Grader. • Student Signature: Parent Signature: • __________________ ___________________ • Date: _____________ Date: ______________
After School Procedures How will your child get home? • On the clipboard, BE SURE to write down how your child will get home. • Parent pick up: WHO? • Bus: Bus #? If you have not been assigned a bus #, call the bus barn ASAP. If I do not have bus # today, PLEASE pin/stick it on your child Monday when he/she comes to school. • Walk: With WHO? • You must send a note ahead of time or that particular day if you do not want your child to be put on the bus. The office will NOT be taking last minute phone calls. If a note is not sent, your child WILL be put on the bus. • Parents who pick up their children daily are encouraged to use the pickup lane. Teachers and administrators will be on duty to call for your child. • All 1st grade classes will be lined up against the fence on the First grade wing at 3:00. All 1st gradestudents must hug their teacher before leaving for safety precautions. • Be on time to pick up your child.
Grades & Assessments • E= Excellent • S= Satisfactory • N= needs improvement • U= unsatisfactory If your child receives an N or U, you will be notified for a parent conference. Tutoring will be provided
