  1. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go;    even when he is old he will not depart from it.

  5. Created in the Image of God • Spiritual not Worldly • Ecclesiastes • Solomon’s attempts at happiness on earth • Ecclesiastes 12:13 • 13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Sin is Black, Hell is Hot, Eternity is Forever • Sins Stains the Soul • There is no little Sin • Remember Uzzah- 2 Samuel 6:5-7 • God does not fellowship unrepentant sinners • 1 John 1:6-10 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

  11. Sin is Black, Hell is Hot, Eternity is Forever • God will punish sin • God is not Santa Claus • There is not little sin • Remember Uzzah 2 Sam. 6:5-7 • Remember the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, Achan and his family • Hell is not a fairy tale • Mark 9:44-48 • Romans 2:5-11

Sin is Black, Hell is Hot, Eternity is Forever • God is not slack concerning his promises • Romans 6:23 • For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus • 1 Peter 3:5-11 • For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not overlook this one fact that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

  13. Baptism is Essential • We cannot be saved without water baptism • Acts 8:36 • And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See here is water! What prevents me from being baptized? • Mark 16:15-16 • And he said to them “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. “

Baptism is Essential • We cannot earn our salvation. • Titus 3:4-5 • But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy…. • 1 Peter 3:21 • Baptism which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

  15. Baptism is Essential • Baptism puts into Christ and redemption • Rom. 6:1-7 • Baptized into his death • Baptism necessitates an obligation on our part to die to sin • Ephesians 1:7 • In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.
