Establishing and managingsystems • One of the first processes when establishing systems is compliance with the numerous Acts and Standards impacting on information management. • Compliance requirements place enormous pressure on businesses, as failure to meet them can result in various formal review processes and prosecution.

One difficulty for organisations occurs when new managers are appointed, and they think that because the system they used in their previous business worked well, it should automatically work well in the new business.
