  3. Wrong Ways to Deal with Sin Deny it - cf. 1 John 1:8, 10; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 Rationalize - Claim you are good enough - cf. Romans 3:10-12; Isaiah 64:6; Matthew 7:21-23

  4. Wrong Ways to Deal with Sin Disregard - “so I sin, so what?” - cf. Romans 7:13; Luke 16:19-31 Give false repentance - cf. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10

  19. The Marks of Repentance Desire for God's will (not desire for own benefit) Desire for cleansing from the sin(s) Desire for a pure heart Desire to warn others of sin Desire to praise the Lord for His righteousness

  20. The Marks of Repentance True repentance brings the joy of forgiveness No / false repentance brings continued tragedy
