  4. Made landfall in NW Florida with a rapidly moving cold front. • Torrential downpours • Wind gusts exceeding 40m/s • 3-4 meter storm surges • 11 tornado touchdowns

  5. Heavy snowfall from Alabama to New York • Strong winds up and down the east coast • Cancellation of 25% of nations flights • Freeways shutdown • Millions without power

  6. Outcome • More than a foot of snowfall • 145 record lows set in 48 hours • 270 people died • 6 billion + in damage • 26 states affected • Over half of the nations population were affected
