Mini-Project Trigonometry

Mini-Project Trigonometry. Shera Casseus, Millicent McAlpin June 4, 2013. Pororo has stupid looking triangle that is labeled ABC. With A= 25, and C being the 90 degree angle, solve for X. Tan (x) = opposite/Adjacent (45˚) = 25/x Tan = 1. A. 25.

  1. Mini-Project Trigonometry Shera Casseus, Millicent McAlpin June 4, 2013

  2. Pororo has stupid looking triangle that is labeled ABC. With A= 25, and C being the 90 degree angle, solve for X. Tan (x) = opposite/Adjacent (45˚) = 25/x Tan = 1 A 25 Pororo’s stupid triangle ABC will be 1….because he's that stupid. OPPISITE 45˚ C ADJACENT X B

  3. Hyoyeon are walking up a 500 meter high hill. The trail has an incline of 12 degrees. How far will Hyoyeon walk to get to the top? • I will have to walk 6,000 meters. H 500 m 12˚ A Sin (x) = opposite/ hypotenuse Sin 12 = 500 / H Sin = 500 x 12 = 6,000 m

  4. Abed seam is tilted at 12 degrees and stands at 6 km from your property. The opposite end of the ground is unknown. How deep will you have to dig to get to the opposite side of the coal seam? 6 km ? House Tan= Opposite Adjacent 12˚ Coal Seam Tan(12)=O 6 km So the opposite side of the triangle, the depth of the ground is 72 kilo meters. Tan = 72 km

  5. The pile of sand that Ryeo Woo made is in the shape of a triangle at a sandcastle building contest is made by mille and Shera. As part of the competition they have to figure out how to solve for the triangle made, with the given measurements and angles. Looking a the triangle what can they use to solve and what will the answer be. • Because the sides given are adjacent and hypotenuse with an angle of 65 degrees, you know you have to plug in for Cos. Therefore both Millie and Shera have to use Cos, and their answer will be 715 in. Cos (x) = adjacent/ hypotenuse Cos 65 = 11in/X Cos = 715 11 in 65 x

  6. Ed, Edd, and Eddy have to travel up a steep hill, the hill is 100 ft steep, and the angle at the top of the opposite side of the triangle is 35 degrees. Solve the problem. • The answer is 3500 ft. 35˚ 100 ft 53 ft Sin (x) = opposite/ hypotenuse Sine (35) = 100/53 Sine = 3500
