What are the aims of the Alliance?- To contribute to the Millennium Development Goals by accelerated deployment of renewable energy technologies;- To include all relevant actors such as industry associations, developing organisations, NGOs, governments, financing institutions;- To create increased awareness among decision makers on the possibilities of sustainable energy services;- To increase the quality of electricity services, meeting the needs of the people Final Meeting PV CAtapult, 27January 2006, Wroclaw, Poland

What does the Alliance do?Policy Recommendations (I)- The Alliance provides recommendations to donor countries/organisations and DC on the set-up of appropriate programs and policies;- The Alliance supports the creation of enabling environments for the implementation of renewable energy technologies in DC ; Final Meeting PV CAtapult, 27January 2006, Wroclaw, Poland

Policy Recommendations (II) - The Alliance supports national policies creating appropriate local infrastructure, e.g. for micro-financing, deployment, servicing, quality control, training, capacity building, etc. - The Alliance stimulates private sector participation both in the developed and developing world; - The Alliance stimulates policies safeguarding the quality of equipment/services; Final Meeting PV CAtapult, 27January 2006, Wroclaw, Poland

Exchange of information and dissemination- The Alliance facilitates the dialogue between the involved stakeholders;- The Alliance provides information to its members, e.g. concerning schemes related to quality control of systems and services, calls for tenders, concessions, country information, best practices, case studies, etc.- The Alliance promotes its mission to other stakeholders Final Meeting PV CAtapult, 27January 2006, Wroclaw, Poland
