Updates on the Email System at Holt Technology Coordinators Meeting - March 15, 2005

The meeting on March 15, 2005, reviewed the current email system established in 1999, originally designed for under 100,000 messages per day. Major concerns included security, spam, and storage limitations, as existing hardware was almost at capacity with a 95% storage usage. The meeting noted the transition from Netscape software to a Sun Microsystems solution, with plans for incremental upgrades including improved directory services, disaster recovery, and enhanced security features. Future tasks involve configuring the production environment and migrating to new software features with minimized downtime.
