  2. ASHRM Foundation Mission • The mission of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) Foundation is to secure resources and administer assets that provide support for meeting ASHRM’s strategic goals in education and research.

  3. History of the Foundation • The ASHRM Foundation was established in 2004, in cooperation with the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) of the American Hospital Association, to help facilitate the advancement of the risk management profession by funding scholarships, education and research programs.

  4. Grants and Scholarships • Educational Grants: For individuals interested in continuing their education in clinical, legal and regulatory or risk financing aspects of risk management. • Research Grants: For funded research on risk financing, claims administration and patient safety methodologies. • Scholarships: For qualified individuals seeking advanced degrees in risk management, insurance, finance, clinical areas and healthcare management. • Since it’s inception, the ASHRM Foundation has awarded more than $90,000.00 in grants to qualified risk management professionals.

  5. Supporting the Foundation • The ASHRM Foundation’s programs are supported by contributions from individual donors, chapters and companies. • The Foundation offers a wide variety of options for those who are interested in including ASHRM in a memorial or honorary gift, or through a planned giving program. • All contributions to HRET in support of the ASHRM Foundation are tax deductible within the limitations of section 501C (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Giving Levels Annual Giving Levels • Benefactor: $1,000 and above • President’s Circle: $500 and above • Founder’s Circle: $250 to $499 • Fellows: $150 to $249 • Scholars: $100 to $149 Pledged Giving • The Foundation Society: a five-year pledge of a minimum of $500 per year (total of $2,500) • The 1980 Society (ASHRM’s founding year): an annual pledge of a minimum of $80 year pledge
