  2. DESERTICO TROPICAL ( BWHI ) ECOLOGIA

Desértico tropical (BWHI): • Se caracteriza por un gran déficit hídrico durante todo el año presenta escasa vegetación, la radiación solar y las temperaturas medias anuales son superiores a los 18 ºC. Y las precipitaciones son menores a los 100mm al año, estas condiciones hacen que la evapotranspiración supera la precipitación, generando un ambiente muy seco, la vegetación que se desarrolla en estos climas es estrictamente xerofítica, con adaptaciones fisiológicas a las condiciones climáticas como hojas pequeñas o modificadas en espinas que limitan la transpiración estas se localizan en la planicie costera occidental de Falcón, así como en las islas de Margarita, Coche y Cubagua.
