  15. Installation Remote Input/Output Panel Installed Remote I/O panels on each unit. Communication to main unit processors is with new fiber optic cables. This reduced wiring and labor cost and prevents electrical signal noise. Seneca Pumped Storage Generation Plant 15

  16. Upper Reservoir Remote Panel Installed a new Fiber Optic cable from Upper Reservoir to Plant Controllers. This provides a more reliable means of reservoir level monitoring and control. Seneca Pumped Storage Generation Plant 16

  21. Outage Planning Depending on the size and complexity of the work planning starts from 6 to 24 months before the outage. Create work packages. Identify equipment, material and services needs. Project funding, duration and timing are locked in. Outage start and end dates are set. Create purchase orders, bid specifications, etc. and release. Working with the appropriate parties create schedules (individual project and overall outage) and determine staffing levels. Identify the critical path. Perform cost/benefit analysis of ending outage early vs. use of premium time Evaluate staffing options. How many days/week, hours/day. • DURING THE OUTAGE • Daily • “All Hands” meeting at the beginning of each shift. • Process time sheets and invoices • Weekly • Meeting to formally review progress and budget with Director • Periodically • Assess outage for staffing changes Schedule locked in approximately one month in advance of outage start date.
