  4. The history of el salavdor El Salvador declared it independence from Spain on Sept 15. 1821. El Salvador experienced numerous revolutions and wars against other Central American republic. In 1969, El Salvador invaded into Honduras after Honduran landowners deported several thousand Salvadorans. The four-day war is known as the “football war” because it broke out during a soccer game between the two countries. El Salvador suffered during a 12 year civil war. Finally On Jan. 16, 1992, the government signed a peace treaty with the guerrilla forces that ended the 12-year civil war that 75,000 people were killed in.

  5. ParqueNacional El Imposible Many North American songbirds winter in El Imposible National Park, named for a high mountain pass on an old trade route to Guatemala. It is for the for the preservation of jaguars, ocelots and hundreds of species of birds, butterflies, mammals and plants.

  6. Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen It was formed in response to "the chaos of memory loss.” The museum preserves civil war records and welcomes researchers. The museum also has anthropologist Carl Vilhelm Hartman's 1896 photographs of indigenous Izalco communities.

  7. ParqueNacional Los Volcanes Volcanoes National Park has a 17-square-mile nature reserve and volcano complex 42 miles from San Salvador. Forested Volcán de Santa Ana is 2 million years old and last erupted in 2005. Dormant Cerro Verde is 1.5 billion years old and overgrown with tropical cloud forest.

He was born in a wealthy family in San Salvador, he was educated at the Escuela Americanain San Salvador and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.
