  2. El pretérito • The preterite tense tells what happenedor what you did. • It is used when the action described has already been completed.

  3. Los verbos de -AR Hablar – to talk or to speak • Yesterday, I talked with my friends. • Ayer, yo hablé con mis amigos. • Last night, You talked with your parents. • Anoche, tú hablaste con tus padres. • Last week, she talked with her teacher. • La semana pasada, ella habló con su maestro.

  4. Los verbos de -AR • Last summer, we talked to our friends in Argentina. • El verano pasado, hablamos con nuestros amigos en Argentina. • This morning, they talked to their grandma. • Esta mañana, ellos hablaron con su abuela.

  5. Cómo conjugar los verbos en el pretérito • The verb will be in the infinitive. • First, take off the ending (ar, er or ir) • Example – Hablar • Depeding on the subject, add the appropriate ending.
