  1. Health Benefits of Intermittent Fasting

  2. Intermittent fasting is an eating pattern where you cycle between periods of eating and fasting. There are many different types of intermittent fasting, such as the 16/8 or 5:2 methods. Numerous studies show that it can have powerful benefits for your body and brain.

  3. 1) Stomach issues I have had daily bloating issues for the last 15 years, but now I don’t have it anymore. I have also stopped using antacids and medicines like pantoprazole. My gut lining has healed, which is something I couldn’t tell back in the day because all I felt then was numbness near my tummy. 2) Energy level My overall energy level has dramatically improved. Unlike before, I don’t sleep all the time. Now I take only one nap for about 10 to 15 minutes after lunch.

  4. 3) Muscle mass I am an extremely slow gainer. I have been to the gym for three years, took protein supplements, and worked out regularly, but I hardly gained any muscles. Now I have been working out at home for six months, and I don’t use any weights or supplements, but this time I have gained a lot more than the three years at the gym. My fat level dropped, my arms got bigger, and I was able to increase my weight from 54 to 57 kilos, which for me, was an impossible feat. BTW I am 172 cms tall

  5. 4) Self-Disciplined When I became allergic to dairy, I used to cry in front of chocolates. I wasn’t able to control myself from having food that triggered my hemorrhoids or ruined my gut lining. Now I have become more self-disciplined in an overall sense. For the past year, I haven’t had any issues with hemorrhoids or bleeding, and my cravings dropped 5) Gained Time The amount of time I spend in front of the food, the toilet, and unnecessary sleep has reduced significantly. I am now more productive and confident than before.

  6. Negatives of Intermittent fasting 1) Timing You need to eat at your trained time, if you do not you would get overly hungry and will start craving unhealthy food Might need to carry your food. At my dinner time of 5:30 PM, restaurants don’t serve any food. 2) Social Events Social events becomes hard because your feeding time and your friends might not match

  7. 3) Supplements When insulin level drops our body starts losing salts, you might need to supplement those lost electrolytes and B vitamins Final thoughts As good as it sounds, intermittent fasting is not for everyone, but if you can do it, you could see amazing results be it weight loss, weight gain, and other health benefits. Watch this TED talk to learn who should be avoiding it.
