  2. THE CELL • A cell is the smallest part of an animal or plant that is able to function independently. • Every animal or plant is made up of millions of cells.

  3. The organelles of the cell <animal cell>

  4. The organelles of the animal cell Cell membrane ; It separates the interior of the cell and keeps everything else out. Golgi Bodies ; Golgi's job is to process and package proteins, before they make their way to their destination. Nucleus ; It is the ''Control Center'' of the cell and is found in a Eukaryotic Cell.

  5. The organelles of the animal cell Mitochondria ; circular or rod shaped organelles that provide the cells with energy through a process called cell respiration. Lysosome ; an organelle formed by the Golgi apparatus to control and clean the cytoplasm. Endoplasmic reticulum ; a cell structure that consists of a series of folded membranes that act as canals to carry materials through the cytoplasm. Cytoplasm ; a watery fluid that contains everything inside the cell membrane and outside the nucleus, where many of the cell’s chemical activities take place.

  6. The organelles of the cell <plant cell>

  7. The organelles of the plant cell Cell wall ; a structure that protects and supports a plant cell. Chloroplast; the green plastid in land plants. Vacuole ; a fluid-filled space in plant and animal cells that is used to store water and nutrients. Cytoplasm ; a watery fluid that contains everything inside he cell membrane and outside the nucleus, where many of the cells chemical activities take place. Cell membrane; It separates the interior of the cell and keeps everything else out. Chromosomes ; a structure in a cell that contains DNA, or genetic information, which holds “construction plans” for all the pieces of the cell. Nucleus; It is the ''Control Center'' of the cell and is found in a Eukaryotic Cell.

  9. The differences between plant and animal cells

  10. What is the prokaryotes? any organism having cells in each of which the genetic material is in a single DNA chain, not enclosed in a nucleus. Bacteria and archaeans are prokaryotes Compare eukaryote

  11. What is the eukaryotes? any member of the Eukarya, a domain of organisms having cells each with a distinct nucleus within which the genetic material is contained. Eukaryotes include protoctists, fungi, plants, and animals Compare prokaryote
