This study investigates fast plasma flow events in the central plasma sheet during critical phases of substorms, including growth phase, onset, and recovery. We analyze various conditions such as pseudobreakups and convection bays, examining the effects of plasma sheet thickness and expansion. Key events are detailed, including the onset on August 12, 2001, and the flow burst with dipolarization on July 22, 2001. We focus on the orientation of the flow, dipolarization timing, expansion speeds, and the temporal/spatial evolution of these phenomena.
