  2. Introduction Harry Had Two sons with his wife Bess Harry died on October 31, 1926 He was married to Bess Houdini His name is Harry Houdini He was born in March 24, 1874 in Budapest Hungary

  3. Child Hood Harry claimed he was born on April 6, 1874 in Appleton Wisconsin. In fact he was born on March 24, 1874 in Budapest Hungary. His real name is Erich Weisz but his friends called him Ehrie. His father was Mayer Samuel Weisz and his brother was Theo Weisz. One story sais that when Erich was a baby he opened the locked cabinet and took the cookies and ate them.

  4. Teen Years At age 12 Erich ran away from home and he hopped on a freight train to Kansas City. Nobody knows what he did in Kansas. A year later Erich went back home in New York city. But he was still struggling to survive. He continued to do various jobs such as photographer and a messenger. He and his brother Theo Started to get interested in magic and there favorite magician was Robert Houdin. So they called Erich Harry Houdini. Harry for his nickname Ehrie and Houdini for Houdin

  5. Adult Hood At age 17 Harry started Doing magic shows at famous places like music halls. Harry nearly preformed 20 shows a day. Harry and Theo were called the Houdini brothers until Harry met a girl named Bess and she was a singer and a dancer. Then Harry and Bess started doing shows together and Theo went solo and his name was Hardeen. Then Harry and Bess sailed to England in 1900 with only enough money to last a week. Then Harry was successful when he broke free from being wrapped around a pole handcuffed at Scotland courtyard. Then Harry and Bess were companions for life. After they did shows, their fame spread quickly all over the world. They sailed back to the USA then he was a national celebrity.

  6. Social Contributions Harry Houdini made an important part in life because he wanted all kids to be like him and they did. He jumped into lakes handcuffed!! Wouldn’t you want to do that. Now there are so many magicians now these days and all of them get a lot of money. Just because of Harry Houdini (Erich Weisz)

Fun Facts Harry Houdini was a pilot and he was the first to fly to Australia Harry called the police and asked them to come to his house and hand cuff him and he would escape Harry was a great collector. He collected magic stuff, memorable things, and he collected historical items. Harry got rejected from the army because he was too old. He was only 43
