  4. What is National Park? • a reserve of natural or semi-natural land • declared or owned by government • set aside for human recreation and enjoyment animal and environmental protection • restricted from most development

  5. Definition of national park • With one or several ecosystems not materially altered by human exploitation and occupation, where plant and animal species, geomorphological sites and habitats are of special scientific and educative interest or which contain a natural landscape of great beauty. • Highly protected, authority of country has taken steps to prevent or eliminate the exploitation and occupation in the whole area. • Visitors are allowed to enter, under special conditions, for inspirational, educative and cultural purposes.

  7. Taiwan Coal Mine Museum Coal Mine Museum is the first exhibition space in the country where the mining culture has been fully presented. Since the museum’s establishment, it has allowed the mining culture in Taiwan to reach another level.

  9. YehliuGeopark . The total distance measured from the entrance of the Yehliu Geopark to the end of the cape is about 1.7 km; the widest area in between is shorter than 300 m.

  10. - The rock landscape of Yehliu Geopark is one of most famous wonders in the world. - The costal line is stretching in a direction vertical to the layer and the structure line; - The influences caused by wave attack, rock weathering, earth movement and crustal movement all contribute to the formation of such a rare and stunning geological landscape.

Weathering • Yehliu is located in the subtropics zone with a temperate and humid climate. • - Each year, the place is under the influences of Northeast monsoon and wave erosion for over a six-month period. • - The impact caused by weathering can be detected apparently on rocks, whereas the formation of strange rock landscapes is also due to the decomposition of the special rock layer as existed underground.

  14. Shifen Waterfall • Shifen waterfall is a scenic waterfall located in Pingsi Township, Taiwan, on the upper reaches of the Keelung River. • The falls' total height is 20 meters (66 feet) and 40 meters in width, moreover it's the broadest waterfall in Taiwan

  17. We finally arrived at the waterfall.There was a little pond for tourists to clean up themselves. The water was very cool.

YangmingshanNational Park • One of the eight national parks in Taiwan • Located between Taipei City and Taipei Country • Famous for its cherry blossoms, hot springs, sulfur deposits, fumaroles, venomous snakes and hiking trails, including Taiwan’s tallest and one over the extinct volcano Seven Star Mountain

  19. Yangmingshan National Park -Situated between the subtropical and temperate zones. -The additional impact of the northeast monsoon leads to weather patterns that shape the unique scenic spots of Yangmingshan National Park.

About sulphur mountain -Hot springs-Sulfur springs in white color, which has a unique taste of sulfur, often mixed with volcanic ash soil-In the Yangmingshan National Park, near the Lengshuikeng hot springs, has a special neutral carbonated spring, natural spring water transparency, spring temperature is moderate, and it is the highest quality springs in various locations

Hot spring valley • HotSpring Valley is a Sulfur Gas and Spa(hot spring) Exports, located in the Taiwan Beitou. • Hot Spring Valley springs are Gu Acidity Sulfur Spring, the water temperature up to 90 degree celsius, the water is clear and the color was greenish Siyu, commonly known as Green sulfur.

  24. The hot spring valley smelt bad and we felt dizzy after we’d stayed there for a period of time and it was very hot.

Conclusion Advantages Disadvantages • Less money is needed to build the park • Citizens and tourists can learn things from visiting the national park • Make the environment more beautiful • Visitors may damage or pollute the national park • The nature may be destroyed • The nearby restaurants will create a lot of rubbish
