Larry Miller on Aging • Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? • If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions. • "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five!  That's the key. 

  3. Larry Miller on Aging • You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.  "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! 

  4. Larry Miller on Aging • And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!  • But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk.  He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

  5. Larry Miller on Aging • You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.  Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 . . . and your dreams are gone.  • But wait!!!  You MAKE it to 60.  You didn't think you would!  • So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60. 

  6. Larry Miller on Aging • You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70!  After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!  • You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.  And it doesn't end there.

  7. Larry Miller on Aging • Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92." • Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!" • May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

  10. Matthew 18:1-5 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me."

  14. Ephesians 6:1-4 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

"And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled." But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hard-working farmer must be first to partake of the crops.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
