This presentation highlights CPP's efforts to combat ICT-enabled child sexual exploitation in Maranhão, Brazil. Partnering with Plan Brazil, we've conducted activities across five municipalities including São Luís, Codó, and Timbiras. A new law regulating internet cafes aims to strengthen safety measures. Yet, many operate informally, complicating compliance. We have engaged in productive sessions with law enforcement and community partners, establishing the Circle of Rights to empower children and youth. Continued funding will enable further actions to protect children and ensure ICT safety in the region.

Pilot Site Presentation – Maranhão, Brazil Targeting ICT Enabled Child Sexual Exploitation
State of Maranhão, Brazil Working with Plan Brazil, CPP has held activities in 5 municipalities across the State of Maranhão including: Sao Luis, Codó, Peritoró, San José de Ribamar, and Timbiras. The recent passing of a law regulating “Lanhouses” (internet cafes) in the region shows positive movement through regulatory legislative bodies in the State. However, most Lanhouses operate informally which makes the communication regarding this new legislation difficult.
