The Zachary Community School District, through the Student Spaceflight Experiment Program, involved 133 students from three schools during the 2010-2011 academic year. With collaboration from Louisiana State University and Southern University, students crafted 21 winning proposals. Their journey, supported by community contributions, culminated in an unforgettable trip to Cape Canaveral. Valuable lessons learned include the importance of research, collaboration, and perseverance in science. This initiative not only fosters a love for science but also strengthens community ties for future generations.
