  2. Daily Language Practice • 1. The Sumerians, whose civilization flourished around 5000 bc, used sixty as a base number, just like we use one hundred. (2) • 2. Their measurements were all expressed in numbers that could be divided by 6, since their day had twenty-four hours. (2)

  3. Vocabulary Unit Nine • 4 minutes with your partner • Study the spelling • Remember, spelling quiz on Unit 9 this Friday.
