  4. Religious Group • Pope Paul III had no religious group(he did reform to the catholic church).

  5. Issues With Catholic Problems • There was to much conflict with other religions.

  6. Worship • Pope Paul III thought that they could get in heaven by having faith and doing good works such as buying indulgences and belief in purgatory

  7. What did they do to fix what they saw as being wrong about the church • Launched an inquisition designed to combat the spread of Protestantism. • Inquisition- Roman Catholic tribunal for discovery and punishment of heresy.

  10. Counter reformation • The movement within the Roman Catholic Church in the 16th and 17th centuries that tried to eliminate abuses within that church and to respond to the protestant reformation.
