  2. Introduction Qatar has laid out a plan for how it will look like in the year 2030. They are planning to improve how it will look like, Socially, Economically, Environmentally, and Human development. I will be talking about Human development.

What is Human Development to Qatar? “Human Development - development of all its people to enable them to sustain a prosperous society.” (Qatar National Plan 2030 p. #6) Qatar’s vision for the year 2030 will get stronger in the human development area. By this I mean there will be more schools, colleges, jobs, etc.

  4. Qatar 2022 Qatar is planning to build many new facilities, for the 2022 world cup, since Qatar will be the hosting country. This relates to human development because by building the infrastructure, Qatar will develop new and better facilities, which will represent Qatar. There will be more opportunities, plus more jobs for qualified Qataris. This development will help us keep up a strong society.

Changes • The first American university in Qatar, Virginia Commonwealth University, opened in 1998. • Today, 2011, there are 6 American universities, 1 British university, and 1 Islamic university. • In future, this number will grow. • Qataris will have world class education without leaving home.

  10. Qatar Science & Technology Park Qatar Science & Technology Park, is a home for technology-based companies from around the world and an incubator for start-ups enterprises. Providing premises and services, QSTP's support programs help organizations develop and commercialize their technologies.

  15. What is This? Knowledge based economy means, having the country's economy based on high-tech and advanced industries, such as telecommunications or microprocessors. For example?

  16. Human Development The information infrastructure in a country consists of telecommunication networks, strategic information systems, policy and legal frameworks affecting their deployment, as well as skilled human resourcesneeded to develop and use it.

  20. Summary This is how Qatar plans to develop by 2030 and by 2022 it will need to educate and train citizens in order to move away from depending on oil and gas. The goal is to become a knowledge based economy and this needs educated people or in other words, Human Development.
