  2. “20 which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly (places), • 21 far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:”

  3. “22 and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church, • 23 which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” • Ephesians 1:20-23

  4. What four things were accomplished by Jesus becoming a God-man?

  5. SONSHIP • Resurrected from the dead – v. 20 • Proved by the resurrection – Rom. 1:4 • “My Lord and my God – Jn. 20:26-28 • “Upon this rock” – Matt. 16:18 • Satan did all he could and failed!

  6. KINGSHIP • Made to sit at “right hand” – v. 20 • “blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings” – 1 Tim. 6:15 • “Christ…son of the living God” – Matt. 16:16 • “keys of the kingdom” – Matt. 16:19 • “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high – Heb. 1:4

  7. LORDSHIP • Put all things in subjection – v. 22 • “made him to be Lord” – Acts 2:36 • In him all things created, through him and unto him – Col. 1:16

  8. HEADSHIP • Gave him to be head over all things to the church – v. 22 • “And he is the head of the body, the church” – Col. 1:18

  9. HEADSHIP • Body has life in the head. • Body dead when separated from the head. • Body controlled by the head. • Body completed only with the head.

  10. HEADSHIP • Head means sole authority. • Members look to the head (Christ) for all instruction. • Worship, work, and teaching all are done only at the impetus of Christ.
