  1. “Everything In Christ” • II Peter 1:3,4

  2. 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

  3. “Do you have to be perfect to get into heaven?”

  4. “Justification” … “God transfers to your account Christ’s righteousness.” That is your “position” in Christ; it is your “identity” in Jesus.

  5. “How many of you are perfect?”

  6. The important principle of my identity in Jesus: • My “position” in Christ (He has declared me perfect, righteous, blameless). • My “practical” life on earth (I fail, I sin).

  7. “If I have Christ’s righteousness (if I am justified), why do I still sin?”

  8. “If I have Christ’s righteousness (if I am justified), why do I still sin?” “Sanctification” Your sanctification is simply letting the Holy Spirit in you close the gap between your “position” in Christ, and your “practical” daily life.

  9. The Bible tells us: • In Christ we discover our identity: perfect and righteous (justification, our position). • Our life down here is lived through Christ, who dwells in us by the Holy Spirit (sanctification, our practical life).

  10. 3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. II Peter 1:3,4

  11. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places”… Ephesians 1:3

  12. “For this, I have Jesus.”
